How it works
Less financial busywork. More room to grow.
A clear path from first conversation to dependable monthly numbers — with scope, terms and access agreed before anything begins.
Getting started
Four steps to clearer numbers.
Consultation
We learn about your business, your current books and systems, and what you need help with.
Scope & agreement
Build your monthly plan or receive a written proposal for advisory work. You review and sign the service agreement.
Secure onboarding
Once payment is confirmed, you receive onboarding instructions to connect accounts and share documents securely.
Monthly rhythm
Books are maintained, reconciled and closed each month, with reporting and a clear list of anything needing your input.
Once you’re up and running
What a month with Sumday looks like.
Throughout the month
Transactions sync through secure feeds, bills and receipts arrive in one place, and questions are batched — not sent one by one.
At month-end
Accounts are reconciled and your books are closed on the calendar agreed during onboarding.
After the close
You receive your financial statements, a short summary and any open items that need your input.
Before onboarding
What to have ready.
You don’t need everything on day one. These items make onboarding faster; we’ll walk you through each one.
- Access to your accounting software (or a decision to set one up)
- A list of business bank, credit card and payment-processor accounts
- Recent statements for those accounts
- Details of your payroll provider, if you have one
- Your tax professional’s contact details, if you have one
- Any loans, leases or major assets the business holds
Security & access
Your information, handled with care.
Least access needed
Read-only bank feeds where possible. Payment release stays with authorized people at your business unless agreed otherwise in writing.
No sensitive data by email
Documents are shared through a secure workflow set up during onboarding — never sent through this website’s forms.
Questions
Frequently asked.
How long does onboarding take?
It depends on the state of your books and how quickly account access and documents are available. Your onboarding plan sets out the steps and timing.
What if my books are behind or messy?
That’s common. Catch-up or cleanup work is assessed and quoted separately before your monthly service begins.
Can I change my plan later?
Yes. As your business changes, your scope can be reviewed and updated by agreement.
Who will I work with?
You’ll have a consistent point of contact for your monthly bookkeeping, with specialist support brought in where your scope requires it.
