Bookkeeping & financial operations for dental practices
See what your practice really collects.
Production, collections, associate pay, lab bills and equipment financing all shape a dental practice’s numbers. Sumday reconciles collections to the bank from your practice-management summary reports and organizes costs so you can see true overhead by location. We never need patient-level data.
- Production vs collections

- Lab & supply costs
Common financial challenges
Where dental practice books get complicated.
Production is not collections
What the schedule produced and what actually reached the bank differ because of adjustments, write-offs and timing. The books need to reflect collections, reconciled from summary reports.
Associate pay depends on the numbers
Associate and hygienist compensation is often based on production or collections, so payroll inputs must tie back to the right summary figures.
Lab and supply costs drift
Lab fees, dental supplies and small equipment are large, recurring costs that are easy to under-track without consistent coding.
Equipment and expansion need financing
Imaging, chairs, build-outs and acquisitions bring loans and leases that need accurate schedules and cash planning.

Questions
For dental practices.
Do you need access to patient records?
No. We work only from summary reports, such as month-end production and collections totals. Please do not send patient-identifiable information.
Do you handle dental insurance billing or claims?
No. Claims, coding and payer follow-up stay with your front office or billing service. We record insurance deposits in your books once they reach your bank.
Can you calculate associate pay?
We can prepare associate compensation from summary reports using the formula you agree, for your approval before payroll.
Do you work with my practice-management system?
We work from the summary reports it exports. Compatibility with your specific system is confirmed during your consultation.
Can you support a practice acquisition?
Acquisition planning and financing preparation are available through our fractional CFO service, scoped after a consultation. Legal and tax advice stays with your attorney and tax professional.
